Burkina Faso Field Guidlines for Short-Term Teams
Each short-term team member is required to have travel insurance (including evacuation) coverage
Field Guidelines

1. The team host, an active missionary serving in Burkina Faso, must obtain approval from the Burkina Faso FLT before extending a formal invitation to a short-term team.  The         proposal to FLT should include the name of the team leader, team size, ministry objectives and dates of the proposed visit.

2. A trip agreement between the mission and the team will be written and must be signed by the team leader.

3. Requests for the team should be made at least six months prior to the proposed travel dates. All trips should be confirmed four months prior travel dates.

4. All teams are limited to 12 people, including all sponsors and support personnel.

5. The EAC leadership in the participating district must be informed of the team’s visit and ministry objectives.  When possible, the team should be introduced to the district    leadership and national church president.

6. Short-term teams are expected to pay for their expenses while they are here. These expenses include room, board and local transportation. The daily rate for expenses is $25 per day per person. The day of your arrival and the day of your departure will be counted separately as one day.

7. Short-term teams that travel outside of Ouaga will be charged an additional transportation fee. The additional charge will depend on the vehicle(s) used and the km driven. The charges will be estimated before hand but will be charged based on actual km driven.

8. Short-term teams are expected to cover the cost of the project they are working on unless other arrangements have been made with the field.

9. Short-term team members should be in good health.  Any medical condition or special diets must be communicated to the missionary host before arrival.  Medical clearance from a physician is required for any major medical condition.

10. Travelers Insurance is required for all team members. In the event that medical care or an evacuation is required, the individual and/or his team must cover all related expenses.  The Burkina Faso field will not be held responsible for any such expenses.

11. An information packet shall be made available for each team, which includes information specific to Burkina Faso. This information will serve as the standard to which the team will be held accountable.

12. The team host is responsible to provide orientation and debriefing for the short-term team. Team members must follow the recommendations of their host.

13. Tobacco, alcohol, drugs and firearms are strictly forbidden.
